SUMMARY:Buffalo Farmer's Market — Clinton-Bailey Farmer's & Flea Market
DESCRIPTION:The Niagara Frontier Growers Co-operative Market\, Inc. was born in October 1930. The objectives of the co-op were to promote\, foster and encourage the intelligent and orderly marketing of agricultural products between producer and consumer. The co-op was also formed to make the distribution of agricultural products between producer and consumer as direct and efficient possible. \nNiagara Frontier Growers leased the land from the railroad until the 1950’s when it then purchased the land. Over the years \, the Market became known as the Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market and has become a vital link in Western New York’s food distribution. \nOver the years\, many Western New York farmers and growers have brought some of the finest locally grown products to the Market for distribution. Some farmers traveled more than 2 hours to sell their goods at the Market. In the early years of the Market many of the farmers would transport their goods by horse and buggy! \nToday\, the location of the Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market is central within the growing region and central within the “food distribution hub” of the City of Buffalo. Hundreds of thousands of customers pass through the Market each year to purchase fresh locally grown goods direct from the farmer insuring healthy eating and savings to the end consumer. \nThe Market has also become a desired destination for those looking to purchase flowers\, vegetable plants\, herbs\, shrubs and Christmas Trees. Many wholesale buyers include major grocers\, institutions\, neighborhood markets\, restaurants\, caterers\, garden centers and other farm market stands that come to the Market every Tuesday\, Thursday and Saturday morning as early as 4:00 AM. \nCLINTON BAILEY MARKET\n1443 – 1517 Clinton Street\nBuffalo\, NY 14206

SUMMARY:WNY Theater: TURN — Off Off Off Broadway world premiere at the Spire Theater
DESCRIPTION:A bold new original musical takes the stage in Western New York. \nTURN\, written by Angelo Valentino Giuffré\, makes its Off Off Off Broadway World Premiere at The Spire Theater in Jamestown\, NY with six performances running May 29 through June 7\, 2026. \nBlending Broadway storytelling with Latin rhythms\, theatrical comedy\, emotional ballads\, funk\, soul\, pop\, and rock\, TURN follows Anthony\, a shy young man whose first heartbreak unexpectedly pulls him into the worlds of music\, dance\, language\, performance\, ambition\, and self discovery. \nWhat begins as a search for love becomes a powerful story about family\, friendship\, artistic passion\, and the cost of chasing applause.

SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: American Soundscapes
DESCRIPTION:Our season concludes with three iconic compositions and two orchestral world premieres. \nThe program opens with Bernstein’s toe-tapping Three Dance Episodes from On the Town\, a comedic Broadway hit filled with dance\, sentimentality\, and lightheartedness. \nThe musical spirit of America continues with Copland’s emblematic and patriotic Appalachian Spring: Suite\, which blooms with optimism and brims with the tender promise of new life. \nStarting with its idiosyncratic clarinet glissando\, Gershwin’s jazz-infused Rhapsody in Blue swings and sweeps listeners into a different American soundscape where an improvisational-sounding piano line takes the center of this Jazz-age stage. \nThese quintessential American pieces are paired with two works rooted in our own Western New York. Michael Daugherty’s Niagara Falls is a musical journey through one of the world’s great scenic wonders\, while Buffalo-born Paul Moravec’s Serenade—inspired by the Great Western Staircase at the New York State Capitol\, a marvel of intricate sculpture and history—offers a stirring narrative of ascent and aspiration. This closing concert provides a rich musical portrait of America—both past and present—bound to inspire listeners to appreciate the musical and natural beauty surrounding them. \n  \nJoAnn Falletta\, conductor \nJon Kimura Parker\, piano \n  \nBERNSTEIN Three Dance Episodes from On the Town \nMICHAEL DAUGHERTY Niagara Falls (Orchestral World Premiere) \nCOPLAND Appalachian Spring: Suite \nPAUL MORAVEC Serenade (Orchestral World Premiere) \nGERSHWIN Rhapsody in Blue \nHappens on the following Dates:\nJun 5\, 2026\, 10:30am to 12:00pm Timezone: Eastern Time (US & Canada)\nJun 6\, 2026\, 7:30pm to 9:00pm Timezone: Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Founded in 2014 by frontman Nathan Barnes and drummer Kollin Perpignani\, the band’s inception as a side project quickly evolved into a full-time endeavor. With the addition of bassist Leslie Drake in early 2017\, Throne’s line-up was taking shape\, setting the stage for their rise. \nTheir debut EP “Altar of The Dying” in 2018\, followed by the full-length album “Pestilent Dawn” in 2020\, showcased their growth and mastery of blackened death metal\, capturing the attention of the international metal community. Sharing stages with major extreme acts like At The Gates and Goatwhore\, Throne has earned both respect and admiration within the metal community. Their unwavering work ethic\, coupled with a modest approach\, has given them an elite status among peers. The newest addition of lead Guitarist\, Tim Kenefic\, brought a new level of technical skill and energy\, further enhancing their already intricate and ferocious sound. \nThrone’s latest album\, “That Who Sat Upon Him\, Was Death\,” marks a new chapter in their evolving saga. Striving for a heavier and more intense death metal sound\, while also exploring new dynamics\, the album stands out as both a continuation and a departure from their previous work. \nLacerate\nLacerate is a trio from Buffalo focused on groove laden death metal. The band released their self titled EP in 2024\, and then dropped “Anabolic” and “Cranial Chunks” in 2025. The band has been playing a multitude of shows in Buffalo and Rochester. They’ll be finally spreading their wings in May with Morgue Terror\, Coronary Thrombosis\, Misanthropic Tendencies and Chronepsis on the “Erie Canal Carnage” run (May 7 Philly On The Rocks\, May 8 Lost Horizon\, May 9 Amvets 13). While the band itself is a newer name in the scene\, its members are hardly strangers to chaos — each having sharpened their craft in the ranks of legendary regional outfits such as Immortal Terror\, Grotesque Infection\, Eternal Torment\, Arsenic Disposal\, and Anthropic. Together\, they channel this legacy into a fresh\, ferocious assault that fuses old-school grind ferocity with death metal weight. \nThe lineup is as direct as their music: Chris Hull on guttural\, barking vocals; Carl Pace wielding razor-sharp guitar riffs; Russ Martin anchoring the low end on bass; and Jim Santillo delivering relentless percussive punishment behind the kit. This four-piece thrives on speed\, brevity\, and intensity\, constructing songs that strike with surgical precision yet leave behind a trail of chaos. Their sound is rooted in grindcore’s foundational tradition of blast-beat fury and raw abrasion\, but with an added thickness and dark edge that reflects their death metal pedigree. \nAccursed\n\nAccursed emerged from Connecticut’s underground metal scene in 2019 as a creative response to the extremes of modern heavy music\, blending the melodic sophistication of classic melodeath with the intensity and precision of contemporary metal. \nThrough several early lineup changes\, the band refined its identity rather than losing focus. Those formative years became a proving ground for Accursed’s sound\, sharpening arrangements\, strengthening songwriting\, and establishing the band’s balance of melody\, aggression\, and atmosphere. \nTheir most recent single\, “Beneath A Burning Sky\,” marked a turning point for the band. The track quickly outperformed previous releases in its first three months and gained wider exposure through features on The Circle Pit’s YouTube channel and No Clean Singing blog. \nWith a new single on the horizon\, and working on finalizing music for their first full length album\, Accursed continues to expand on their sound. Rooted firmly in the melodic death metal tradition while embracing modern production and structure\, the band delivers music that is both ferocious and haunting. \n\nSlamology\nSlamology is a three piece slam band based out of Kentucky.
