SUMMARY:Buffalo Farmer's Market — Clinton-Bailey Farmer's & Flea Market
DESCRIPTION:The Niagara Frontier Growers Co-operative Market\, Inc. was born in October 1930. The objectives of the co-op were to promote\, foster and encourage the intelligent and orderly marketing of agricultural products between producer and consumer. The co-op was also formed to make the distribution of agricultural products between producer and consumer as direct and efficient possible. \nNiagara Frontier Growers leased the land from the railroad until the 1950’s when it then purchased the land. Over the years \, the Market became known as the Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market and has become a vital link in Western New York’s food distribution. \nOver the years\, many Western New York farmers and growers have brought some of the finest locally grown products to the Market for distribution. Some farmers traveled more than 2 hours to sell their goods at the Market. In the early years of the Market many of the farmers would transport their goods by horse and buggy! \nToday\, the location of the Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market is central within the growing region and central within the “food distribution hub” of the City of Buffalo. Hundreds of thousands of customers pass through the Market each year to purchase fresh locally grown goods direct from the farmer insuring healthy eating and savings to the end consumer. \nThe Market has also become a desired destination for those looking to purchase flowers\, vegetable plants\, herbs\, shrubs and Christmas Trees. Many wholesale buyers include major grocers\, institutions\, neighborhood markets\, restaurants\, caterers\, garden centers and other farm market stands that come to the Market every Tuesday\, Thursday and Saturday morning as early as 4:00 AM. \nCLINTON BAILEY MARKET\n1443 – 1517 Clinton Street\nBuffalo\, NY 14206

SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: American Soundscapes
DESCRIPTION:Our season concludes with three iconic compositions and two orchestral world premieres. \nThe program opens with Bernstein’s toe-tapping Three Dance Episodes from On the Town\, a comedic Broadway hit filled with dance\, sentimentality\, and lightheartedness. \nThe musical spirit of America continues with Copland’s emblematic and patriotic Appalachian Spring: Suite\, which blooms with optimism and brims with the tender promise of new life. \nStarting with its idiosyncratic clarinet glissando\, Gershwin’s jazz-infused Rhapsody in Blue swings and sweeps listeners into a different American soundscape where an improvisational-sounding piano line takes the center of this Jazz-age stage. \nThese quintessential American pieces are paired with two works rooted in our own Western New York. Michael Daugherty’s Niagara Falls is a musical journey through one of the world’s great scenic wonders\, while Buffalo-born Paul Moravec’s Serenade—inspired by the Great Western Staircase at the New York State Capitol\, a marvel of intricate sculpture and history—offers a stirring narrative of ascent and aspiration. This closing concert provides a rich musical portrait of America—both past and present—bound to inspire listeners to appreciate the musical and natural beauty surrounding them. \n  \nJoAnn Falletta\, conductor \nJon Kimura Parker\, piano \n  \nBERNSTEIN Three Dance Episodes from On the Town \nMICHAEL DAUGHERTY Niagara Falls (Orchestral World Premiere) \nCOPLAND Appalachian Spring: Suite \nPAUL MORAVEC Serenade (Orchestral World Premiere) \nGERSHWIN Rhapsody in Blue \nHappens on the following Dates:\nJun 5\, 2026\, 10:30am to 12:00pm Timezone: Eastern Time (US & Canada)\nJun 6\, 2026\, 7:30pm to 9:00pm Timezone: Eastern Time (US & Canada)

SUMMARY:Buffalo Art: Rachel Shelton\, 'Slow Looking'
DESCRIPTION:Buffalo Arts Studio is thrilled to present Slow Looking\, a new body of work by Rachel Shelton that challenges the negativity so often associated with decay\, uncertainty\, and precarity. Featuring a series of monotypes\, etchings\, collagraphs\, and screenprints of rock forms\, the exhibition is on view from May 22 through August 1\, 2026. An opening reception will be held on Friday\, May 22\, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm as part of M&T Fourth Friday at Tri-Main. \nAll of the rock forms in Slow Looking originate from a single photo of two rocks in a field of glacial deposits that Shelton stumbled upon during a trip to Montana. With adjustments to scale\, orientation\, color\, and surrounding compositions\, the prints invite us to shift between micro and macro perspectives and consider the ecosystems pocketed within a life cycle. Her work documents the passage of time via the life cycle of a rock\, suggests the building blocks of larger structures\, and navigates the network of meaning and connections that form when things fall apart.  \nFor more information about Buffalo Arts Studio\, please visit www.buffaloartsstudio.org

SUMMARY:Buffalo Art: Frank Chang\, 'The Mesh'
DESCRIPTION:From the artist: In the studio\, I take on the perspective of an “archaeologist of the present” in order to reflect on the climate crisis. Otherwise\, the stakes feel too high and making art feels futile and insignificant compared to the magnitude of the problem. I collect fragments of climate news\, bureaucratic documents\, and mass media imagery\, looking for linkages that are unexpectedly resonant. I am searching for things under the surface\, inexplicable connections that are strangely well suited to expressing the feeling of the present\, with all its contradictions\, anxieties\, and possibilities. \nThis exhibition combines new and recent climate-related work. The title is inspired by philosopher Timothy Morton’s metaphor of the mesh. Morton uses the mesh to refer to the ecological interconnectedness of all things\, both living and non-living. The mesh\, according to Morton\, allows us to imagine things normally thought to be contradictory. It is both foreground and background\, hard and delicate. It is both too large and infinitesimally small. The mesh is the perfect metaphor for thinking about climate because “[e]ach point of the mesh is both the centre and edge of a system of points\, so there is no absolute centre or edge.”[1] The mesh also perfectly encapsulates my working process\, in which each fragment leads to another; I see what’s in front of me as both the beginning and end of the process. \nHyperbatteries is a series of sculptures that reconfigure the clean and rational aesthetics of various “green” battery technologies as dense assemblages of entangled materials\, histories\, and ideas. I began with the definition of batteries as connected energies\, then followed threads ranging from the German Romanticism of early battery pioneers to Qing Dynasty symbolism and spirituality. Of course\, replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy is crucial in helping to mitigate climate change. But batteries are too often depicted as the “solution” to climate change\, with little regard for how they are produced or where their minerals come from. Indeed\, as political scientist Thea Riofrancos points out\, “…the promise of zero emissions sits alongside the reality of fossil fuel extraction and combustion\, renewable energy deployment\, and mining to outfit carbon-free capitalism.”[2] \nOther works in the exhibition employ a variety of archaeologically inspired motifs and techniques\, especially paper squeeze casting. Paper squeeze\, or paper molding\, was an archaeological technique developed by Alfred Maudslay in the late 19th century in which layers of wet paper were pressed onto Mayan monuments to create replicas that could later be cast in plaster. Maudslay used this technique to reach remote sites in Guatemala that would have been inaccessible to teams carrying tons of plaster-casting supplies. Incidentally\, Maudslay began his archaeological work at the same time widespread global temperature recordings began. My paper sculptures are copies of copies\, created by first making a “sacrificial sculpture\,” which is then paper-molded. When completed\, the original is thrown out\, leaving the paper cast as the work. By displaying the cast as the artwork\, I want to highlight its indeterminacy. The sacrificial sculpture can be thought of as both absent and present\, like an impression\, thought\, or memory. The surface of these sculptures is fragile yet resilient and is skin-like\, which reminds me of the solidity and impermanence of ourselves\, our past\, and our imagined futures. \n\nFRANK CHANG (b. 1979\, New York) is a multi-disciplinary artist who employs and re-frames ordinary or familiar visual forms in order to examine the entangled and complex interrelationships between climate\, social\, and cultural issues. Chang’s work spans a variety of mediums\, including works on paper\, sculpture\, installation\, and performance\, but each body of work is based upon a consistent methodology in which recognizable forms — from the vernacular to the historical — act as springboards for deeper investigations into these issues. \nHis work has been exhibited at Gallery Ondo (Seoul\, South Korea)\, Gallery G (Hiroshima\, Japan)\, Wells College (Aurora\, NY)\, Ithaca College\, Ortega y Gasset Projects (Brooklyn\, NY)\, Bushel (Delhi\, NY)\, Dartmouth College\, the Torrance Art Museum\, Museum of Jurassic Technology\, LA Design Center\, Woodbury University\, and Virginia Commonwealth University\, among others. He has also installed site-specific works on Governors Island\, High Desert Test Sites (Wonder Valley\, CA) and alongside a stream in South Windham\, VT.He was formerly co-director of Monte Vista Projects in Los Angeles\, and he was a contributor to the book Dispatches and Directions: On Artist-Run Organizations in Los Angeles and to the journal MATERIAL. He received his BA from Dartmouth College and his MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Art & Design at Binghamton University. \n[1] Timothy Morton\, The Ecological Thought\, (Harvard University Press\, 2010)\, 29.[2] Thea Riofrancos\, Extraction: The Frontiers of Green Capitalism\, (W.

SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: Buffalo Gore Fest 2026
DESCRIPTION:Morgue Terror\nMorgue Terror is from the snowy\, cold\, frozen tundra of Buffalo\, New York. Members Dave (guitar) & Steve (bass\, vocals) started the band\, composing their debut EP Morgue Terror. Dustin joined on drums in November of 2023\, after hearing the debut single “Chopped Up Chum”. \nTheir second EP\, Violent And Murderous Thoughts\, dropped on August 23rd\, 2024. Kevin joined the band on bass after the trio had already recorded\, with Steve staying on vocals. Dustin left after the summer of 2025\, and Logan of Lacerate took over on drums. Anthony replaced Kevin on bass in 2026\, and with the additions of Logan & Anthony\, the band is poised to begin a new era. \nSo far\, Morgue Terror has played with Internal Bleeding\, NecroticGoreBeast\, Internal Suffering\, Malignancy\, Frog Mallet and more. Their latest singles – Gore Harvest\, Feasting On The Dead\, Terror In The Morgue\, and Cryptid Skin – are out now. The band has signed to CDN Records for the release of their upcoming full-length. \nMarvel of Decay\nMarvel of Decay hails from the Rose of New England\, Norwich\, CT. Spencer (guitar) and Kyle (drums) formed the band in 2019. \nJohn (vocals) and Greg (bass) joined that same year. After that they released their first self titled EP that they tracked and mixed themselves. \nSince then the band has released the Quarantine EP in 2020 that was tracked and mixed remotely by the band themselves. After that they released The Abysmal Grip in 2021\, Virulent Realms in 2023 and Display of Indifference in 2025! \nThe band blends a lot of sub genres of death metal without conforming fully to any of them. It’s a mix of traditional death metal\, slam\, melodic death metal\, tech death\, brutal death metal and camo shorts deathcore. \nAbated Mass of Flesh\nFormed in the summer of 2011\, Abated Mass of Flesh started as a solo act by Zack Plunkett. After the release of the first EP\, he added his brother Matt to the project to take over on lead vocals. Together\, they put out a number of EPs and became a live act the following year. Since then\, they have continued releasing material and playing shows. Their consistency and dedication have helped cement their place in the underground slam scene. With no signs of slowing\, AMOF continue slamming their way through the scene\, unleashing a barrage of guttural\, grinding death metal. \nScab Hag\nScab Hag is a swamp-brewed death metal quintet seeping out of Cincinnati\, Ohio. Metal Hammer listed them in “10 up-and-coming death metal bands every self-respecting metalhead should know“. Formed in 2021\, Scab Hag has made waves in the metal community and has shared the stage with acts such as Mortician\,  Bodybox\, Volcano\, Left to Die\, Undeath\, Snuffed On Sight\, Skeletal Remains\, Vitriol\, Morta Skuld\, Nunslaughter\, Bury Your Dead\, Genocide Pact\, Vomit Forth\, Mutilatred\, Exhorder\, Deterioration\, and many more. \nScab Hag amassed a dedicated following at shows and on social media platforms. They played many shows and festivals\, including Gored in the Heart of Texas\, Hacked Up for Barbecue\, Delaware Terror Fest\, Connecticut Funtime Bonanza\, and have completed tours with bands like Bonginator\, Mutilation Barbecue\, and Crown Vic. \nScab Hag has successfully partnered with Frozen Screams Imprint\, Pull The Plug Patches\, Iron Fortress Records\, Penalty Box Records\, and more. \nOrbital Gate\nOrbital Gate is an independent slamming brutal death metal solo project from Cary\, IL formed by Eva Van Dyne in 2022. Since 2025\, Orbital Gate has been performing with a live band consisting of Eva on guitar/vocals\, Dylan Rehner on guitar\, Joshua McKenney on bass\, and Dave Cieck on drums\, while continuing to be a solo project in the studio. Orbital Gate has released three full length albums\, an EP\, and a split. Despite remaining independent\, Orbital Gate has grown a decently sized following online over the years. \nThrone\nRevered and respected among the Midwest heavy music community\, Throne have captivated and crushed the masses with their unique brand of death metal since their first jaw-dropping live performance in late 2017. Founded in 2014 by frontman Nathan Barnes and drummer Kollin Perpignani\, the band’s inception as a side project quickly evolved into a full-time endeavor. With the addition of bassist Leslie Drake in early 2017\, Throne’s line-up was taking shape\, setting the stage for their rise. \nTheir debut EP “Altar of The Dying” in 2018\, followed by the full-length album “Pestilent Dawn” in 2020\, showcased their growth and mastery of blackened death metal\, capturing the attention of the international metal community. Sharing stages with major extreme acts like At The Gates and Goatwhore\, Throne has earned both respect and admiration within the metal community. Their unwavering work ethic\, coupled with a modest approach\, has given them an elite status among peers. The newest addition of lead Guitarist\, Tim Kenefic\, brought a new level of technical skill and energy\, further enhancing their already intricate and ferocious sound. \nThrone’s latest album\, “That Who Sat Upon Him\, Was Death\,” marks a new chapter in their evolving saga. Striving for a heavier and more intense death metal sound\, while also exploring new dynamics\, the album stands out as both a continuation and a departure from their previous work. \nLacerate\nLacerate is a trio from Buffalo focused on groove laden death metal. The band released their self titled EP in 2024\, and then dropped “Anabolic” and “Cranial Chunks” in 2025. The band has been playing a multitude of shows in Buffalo and Rochester. They’ll be finally spreading their wings in May with Morgue Terror\, Coronary Thrombosis\, Misanthropic Tendencies and Chronepsis on the “Erie Canal Carnage” run (May 7 Philly On The Rocks\, May 8 Lost Horizon\, May 9 Amvets 13). Fronted by Kaleb on bass and vocals\, Jack on guitar and Logan on drums the boys are poised to take the stage for their biggest show yet. \nMetal Anguish\nEmerging from the gritty borderlands of Niagara Falls and Buffalo\, New York\, Mental Anguish is a grindcore unit forged from decades of underground experience and a relentless commitment to extremity. While the band itself is a newer name in the scene\, its members are hardly strangers to chaos — each having sharpened their craft in the ranks of legendary regional outfits such as Immortal Terror\, Grotesque Infection\, Eternal Torment\, Arsenic Disposal\, and Anthropic. Together\, they channel this legacy into a fresh\, ferocious assault that fuses old-school grind ferocity with death metal weight. \nThe lineup is as direct as their music: Chris Hull on guttural\, barking vocals; Carl Pace wielding razor-sharp guitar riffs; Russ Martin anchoring the low end on bass; and Jim Santillo delivering relentless percussive punishment behind the kit. This four-piece thrives on speed\, brevity\, and intensity\, constructing songs that strike with surgical precision yet leave behind a trail of chaos. Their sound is rooted in grindcore’s foundational tradition of blast-beat fury and raw abrasion\, but with an added thickness and dark edge that reflects their death metal pedigree. \nAccursed\n\nAccursed emerged from Connecticut’s underground metal scene in 2019 as a creative response to the extremes of modern heavy music\, blending the melodic sophistication of classic melodeath with the intensity and precision of contemporary metal. \nThrough several early lineup changes\, the band refined its identity rather than losing focus. Those formative years became a proving ground for Accursed’s sound\, sharpening arrangements\, strengthening songwriting\, and establishing the band’s balance of melody\, aggression\, and atmosphere. \nTheir most recent single\, “Beneath A Burning Sky\,” marked a turning point for the band. The track quickly outperformed previous releases in its first three months and gained wider exposure through features on The Circle Pit’s YouTube channel and No Clean Singing blog. \nWith a new single on the horizon\, and working on finalizing music for their first full length album\, Accursed continues to expand on their sound. Fans can expect more guitar harmonies\, dynamic songwriting\, and melodic hooks layered over crushing rhythm sections and visceral vocals. Rooted firmly in the melodic death metal tradition while embracing modern production and structure\, the band delivers music that is both ferocious and haunting. \n\nSlamology\nSlamology is a three piece slam band based out of Kentucky. The goal is to focus on sick riffs\, low gutturals and groovy songs. “Iverson Anklebreaker” just released on streaming services. Slamology invades Buffalo June 6th to bring us some guttural hood slam. \nCoronary Thrombosis\nCoronary Thrombosis is a brutal death metal band based out of Long Island\, New York. The band knows their sound based off 90’s New York brutal death metal. They released a demo in 2021 and their debut EP “Disgusting Disfigurement” in 2025. Coronary Thrombosis strives on vile brutality and an old school way of thinking. \nSurviving a multitude of lineup changes\, this band has more than proved their stay in death metal. Come check out their truly sickening set at Buffalo Gorefest. \n  \nAll-In Pricing Notice \nIn accordance with New York State law\, all ticketed events must display the total price of admission upfront — including all fees\, charges\, and taxes. This means the price you see listed is the final price you’ll pay. No hidden fees\, no surprises at checkout — just full transparency from the start.
