SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: Mama's Broke at the 9th Ward
DESCRIPTION:DSP Shows presents Mama’s Broke live in The 9th Ward \n7pm Doors\, 7:30pm Show \nTickets: General Admission Seated $20 advance\, $25 day of show\, available at TixR.com (convenience fees apply) or in person at the Babeville Box Office (M-F 11a-5p- in person fee free cash sales\, 3% credit/debit card fee). \n\nMama’s Broke have spent over a decade in a near-constant state of transience\, pounding the transatlantic tour trail. They’ve brought their dark\, fiery folk-without-borders sound to major festivals and DIY punk houses alike\, absorbing traditions from their maritime home in Eastern Canada all the way to Ireland and Indonesia. Nowhere is the duo’s art-in-motion approach more apparent than on their long-awaited JUNO-nominated sophomore record Narrow Line (released May 2022 on Free Dirt Records) It’s the sound of nowhere in particular\, yet woven with a rich synthesis of influences that knows no borders. \nThe eleven songs on Narrow Line burrow deeply\, with close harmony duets\, commanding vocals\, and poignant contemplations on cycles of life\, including birth and death. Tinges of Americana stand side-by-side with the ghosts of Eastern European fiddle tunes and ancient a cappella ballad singing\, melding into an unusually accessible dark-folk sound. A careful listen of Narrow Line invokes an ephemeral sense of place—whether real or imagined—inviting us to take comfort in the infinite possibilities of life\, whether or not we ever choose to settle down. \nFor a group defined by constant touring\, it’s not surprising that the two artists that make up Mama’s Broke\, Lisa Maria and Amy Lou Keeler\, met on the road. Both coming out of travelling communities that are focused on music and protest\, the two owe the way in which they move through the world to the integrated and self-sustaining nature of DIY culture and activism. It was a busy life that took them on a roundabout annual touring schedule running between Canada\, the United States\, Ireland\, the UK\, and Europe. \nThe driving force behind this band is – and has always been – the commitment to challenge borders between people\, places\, and traditions; while encouraging freedom of expression and community through music.

SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: Tune Into Wellness
DESCRIPTION:Tune Into Wellness 2026\nBuffalo’s local musicians are coming together to support mental wellness in our community. As advocates for mental health awareness and community strength\, we are proud to present a special concert that aims to foster understanding and promote the vital resources available in our area. This event will feature an incredible lineup of local talent\, united by the belief that music can bring about healing and change. In addition to the performances\, we will have representation from local mental health services\, providing attendees with valuable information and resources. All ticket sale proceeds will be donated to Compass House\, a crucial emergency shelter and resource center dedicated to supporting youth in need within our community. Join us for an evening of music\, community\, and support as we work together to raise awareness and strengthen mental wellness in Buffalo. Let’s make a difference\, one song at a time! \nHalfstride: \nhalfstride is a three-piece indie/alternative rock band made up of Gabriel Birkby (guitar\, vocals)\, Conn Sullivan (bass\, vocals)\, and Madison Rich (drums\, percussion). Built around the classic power-trio format\, the band pairs narrative-driven melodies with layered\, rhythmic instrumentation to create songs that reflect the evolving experience of living in a world that doesn’t always slow down enough to listen. Blending individual musical backgrounds with a shared creative vision\, halfstride delivers striking original music and an energetic\, emotionally grounded live performance that invites audiences to connect\, feel\, and stay present in the moment. \nPrairie Pavement: \nPrairie Pavement is an indie rock band from Lancaster\, NY. Formed in 2021\, the band’s current lineup consists of guitarists/vocalists Sal Constantin and Jack Chadwick\, bassist Owen Shotwell\, and drummer Dylan Lumb\, occasionally being joined by saxophonist Matt Russell. Prairie Pavement is a prolific contributor to the Buffalo music scene\, with two full-length albums out on major streaming services. One of Prairie Pavement’s defining characteristics is their memorable and high-energy performances\, which they have brought to some of the most prominent stages across Western NY. \nStress Dolls: \nStress Dolls is the moniker of Chelsea O’Donnell\, a songwriter from Buffalo\, NY. The project’s sound has drawn such comparisons as “Joni Mitchell meets Nirvana\,” “Avril Lavigne and Foo Fighters in a blender\,” and “Kathleen Hanna fronting Modest Mouse.” O’Donnell began playing around Western New York in 2013\, initially calling herself Wolf and eventually forming a band. After releasing one EP\, the group went through a few different line-ups and\, in time\, changed their name to Stress Dolls. The band released a self-titled EP in the Fall of 2016 which they recorded earlier that year at GCR Audio. Due to differing pursuits the band split in early 2017 but O’Donnell decided to keep playing under the name Stress Dolls. She made a move to Nashville\, TN but was there only 6 months before chronic health issues – Crohn’s disease and gastroparesis- sent her to the hospital to undergo a feeding tube procedure. Following the surgery she moved back to Buffalo and after a period of recovery\, began writing\, performing\, and recording again. Largely due to the tentative nature of her health\, O’Donnell established Stress Dolls as a solo act in order to go at her own pace. In early 2022 she was invited to work with producer Jim Wirt (Fiona Apple\, Something Corporate\, Incubus) at Superior Sound Studios in Cleveland\, OH. After recording a few songs together\, including her singles “Body” and “Alone\,” she was offered a record deal with Sun Pedal Recordings. After signing\, Wirt and O’Donnell recorded several more tracks that went on to comprise her debut album\, Queen of No\, released in May 2024. In 2025 O’Donnell founded her own record label\, Angry Girl Music\, and reissued Queen of No to streaming services. Currently\, Stress Dolls takes on several forms live: solo with O’Donnell and her acoustic guitar; as a duo when joined by longtime collaborator Sally Schaefer on violin; or as a band when combined with members TJ Luckman (bass)\, Jordan Smith (lead guitar)\, and Josh English (drums). In its many iterations Stress Dolls has shared stages with such acts as USS\, Shonen Knife\, We Are Scientists\, Dan Andriano and Matt Pryor\, Tommy Stinson\, and Our Lady Peace\, and has toured regionally throughout New York state\, the Midwest\, and Southern Ontario. Additionally O’Donnell is on the Engagement Committee of RAMPD (Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities) and is a Voting Member of The Recording Academy’s NY Chapter. \n  \nAll-In Pricing Notice \nIn accordance with New York State law\, all ticketed events must display the total price of admission upfront — including all fees\, charges\, and taxes. This means the price you see listed is the final price you’ll pay. No hidden fees\, no surprises at checkout — just full transparency from the start.
