SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: Andy Thomas – Sportsmen's
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nAndy Thomas \nWednesday\, August 26\, 2026 7pm \n$20.00 (+online fee) \n \n \nThere’s a heaviness when you listen to Andy Thomas’ latest album\, Highway Junkie. Not only from the swamp rock meets honkytonk melodies\, but also the underlying tone and hard truths of this whirlwind journey of a singer-songwriter pushing into the next phase of his promising career. \n“It’s crazy when you set everything aside and put your mind to something\,” Thomas says. “I’m a hard worker\, and this album is a product of that.” \nHailing from Richmond\, Virginia\, Thomas has worked his way up the ranks as an electrifying guitarist up and down the East Coast\, whether it’s fronting his own wild-n-out project The Trongone Band or being the six-string rocket fuel for the melodic muscle car that is acclaimed Americana act Yarn. \n“I’ve known for a long time that I was wired for this life\,” Thomas says of being a musician and performer. “[The road and the stage] feels like home for me. I love playing\, traveling\, and getting the inspiration to write — it’s where I feel most at peace.” \nProduced by fellow Richmond native and longtime friend Dave Schools\, the legendary bassist for Widespread Panic\, and captured at the renowned Spacebomb Studios\, Highway Junkie connects the dots of Thomas’ troubled past and hard-fought strength of self in the present. \nThe 12-LP is the culmination of years of trials and tribulations\, of triumphs and the continued resolve to harness one’s potential. But\, more so\, in the game of life for Thomas\, whose sobriety in recent years has become a deep source of stability and continued motivation — this unrelenting quest to seek out long-held dreams once thought to be too far beyond the horizon of one’s intent. \n“I’m still navigating [sobriety] every day\, but once I got into the thick of it\, after a few months\, I was able to find new things to replace ‘all that\,’” Thomas says candidly and happily. “I was able to refine my love for music\, and why I did it. I’ve got a story. I know I have a purpose on this earth\, and I need that to translate into my music — if I can beat this\, I can do anything.” \nWith Highway Junkie soon to released\, Thomas is already headlong into planning out an upcoming tour in support of the record. The wheels are turning — either along the endless pavement of the open road or within the restless mind of Thomas himself — amid this unfolding landscape of creativity and compassion he’s living and thriving in\, constantly fueled by his own unrelenting drive to see just what lies ahead for his music\, and for his life. \n“You just need to count the wins and be grateful\,” Thomas says. “And this album is a token of gratitude — this is why I’m doing everything I’m doing.”

SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: Drivin N Cryin wsg Laid Back Country Picker – Sportsmen's
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nDrivin N Cryin \nwsg Laid Back Country Picker \nSunday\, September 26\, 2026 4pm Doors\, 6pm Showtime \n$30.00 ($33.70 Online) \n \n \nDrivin N Cryin is an enduring American rock band whose roots-forward sound and uncompromising\nspirit have made them a vital force since forming in Atlanta\, Georgia in 1985. Blending Southern\nrock grit\, folk storytelling\, and hard-charging rock & roll\, the band built a reputation early on as a must-see live act and a songwriter’s band with depth far beyond trends. \nLed by singer-songwriter Kevn Kinney and anchored by bassist Tim Nielsen and drummer Dave\nJohnson\, Drivin N Cryin broke through nationally with a run of influential albums that helped define late-’80s and early-’90s American rock. Songs like “Fly Me Courageous\,” “Honeysuckle Blue\,” “Straight to Hell\,” “Build a Fire\,” and “Scarred But Smarter” became staples of rock and AAA radio\, with Fly Me Courageous earning Gold certification and remaining a cornerstone of the band’scatalog. \nWhile they emerged during the MTV era\, Drivin N Cryin never disappeared. Over four decades\,\nthey’ve remained a consistently touring\, recording band — releasing new music\, evolving their\nsound\, and cultivating a loyal\, multigenerational audience. Their influence extends well beyond\ntheir own recordings; “Straight to Hell” found new life through covers and collaborations that\nintroduced the song to entirely new audiences. \nThe band’s stature is reflected in both peer respect and formal recognition\, including induction into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame\, as well as Kinney’s induction into the Milwaukee Music Hall of Fame. Touring history includes shared stages with artists spanning multiple eras and genres\, The Who\, Hootie & The Blowfish\, The Black Crowes\, ZZ Top\, Soul Asylum\, Blackberry Smoke\, The\nMarshall Tucker Band\, Jason Isbell\, along with recent appearances on destination events like Rock Boat\, Outlaw Country Cruise\, and Moon Crush. \nTheir latest album\, Crushing Flowers\, marks a deliberate return to the band’s core. Stripped back to the original three-piece\, the record favors clarity\, chemistry\, and feel over excess — a confident\, back-to-basics statement from a band that knows exactly who it is. Rather than chasing nostalgia or novelty\, Crushing Flowers reinforces what has always set Drivin N Cryin apart: honest songs\, emotional weight\, and the unmistakable sound of a band still fully engaged in the work. \nNearly forty years in\, Drivin N Cryin remains a living\, breathing American rock band — not a revival act\, not a footnote\, but a continuing story still being written. \n \nLaid Back Country Picker and Honey are the Hillbilly Power Duo. Picking up where the White Stripes left off\, they deliver a blistering show\, equal parts 70s Guitar Rock\, Honky Tonk and Country Punk. They have toured internationally\, opening for the likes of Deep Purple as well as playing festivals and clubs across the US. Blurring the lines with wit\, humor and hot picking\, LB is his own genre.   \nImagine Waylon Jennings sitting in with Motorhead.

SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: Fred Eaglesmith – Sportsmen's
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nFred Eaglesmith \nSatruday\, October 10\, 2026 8pm  \n$50.00 + Online Fee \n \nFRED EAGLESMITH \n& The Full Band \nFred Eaglesmith has played them all; from television’s The Late Show with David Letterman to the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville to the refined acoustics of the Lincoln Center\, but this fall\, Canada’s most uncompromising troubadour brings his whip-smart songwriting and road-tested show back to the very communites that inspired him. \nAnd you won’t want to miss it. \nThe Juno Award winning poet of rural Canada has spent four decades turning service station stories\, county fair romances\, broken down old tractors\, and gravel roads into timeless songs. His devoted fan base\, affectionately known as ‘Fred Heads’ and a reputation for delivering shows that are equal parts intimate and electrifying have established this founder of alt-country as the benchmark for his contemporaries as well as aspiring artists. Eaglesmith’s songs\, filled with wit\, heart\, and unvarnished truth have been covered by the likes of Alan Jackson\, Toby Keith\, Miranda Lambert and countless others. Over 120 artists from Bluegrass to Punk have recorded his popular tune\, “Alcohol & Pills.” His hit\, “Trucker Speed\,” has been named to the 100 Top Americana Songs of All Time and garnered over 60 million views with over 6 thousand independent videos having been created on Tik Tok. \n  \nFor the last 15 years\,Eaglesmith has been joined by Texas-born\, multi-instrumentalist\, Tif Ginn\, who also happens to be his wife. Together they have developed a musical symbiosis that only comes from countless miles\, shared stages and an undenyable chemistry. And now with the addition of their band\, which includes their 16 year old\, 30 year old songs land like fresh revelations and new tunes take shape in real time. \n  \nEaglesmith carries the weight of a legend lightly. After a lifetime of touring and 25 albums under his belt he’d have every right to rest on his laurels. Instead\, he’s doing what he’s always done: pointing the truck toward Canada’s backroads\, where the next great night of music waits to be sparked. His signature sound of country soul & rock energy with his between-song tales only he can tell- equally hilarious & heartbreaking\, make the Fred Eaglesmith Show unmatched. Fred doesn’t just perform in these small towns\, he plugs into their heartbeat-after all these years\, that’s still his superpower.

These performances have helped cultivate a fiercely loyal fanbase known as The Prawn Stars\, whose growing presence in rooms across the country has fueled the band’s rapid rise. That momentum landed Big Shrimp on Grateful Web’s “Top 12 Upcoming Jam Bands to Watch in 2026\,” further cementing their status as a breakout act.\n“They’re pure heat: long sets\, huge grooves\, and a rhythm section that feels like it could carry an entire block party by itself. Guitarist Jared Sage Cowen leads this squad on guitar to deliver a dance-worthy blend of prog rock\, blues rock\, and funk. Their fan base is growing fast because the shows are fun\, joyful\, sweaty\, and full of personality.”\n— GratefulWeb \nIn late 2025\, Big Shrimp released The Prawno Tapes\, Vol. 3\, the band’s third live album\, capturing highlights from an extensive Summer and Fall tour that included standout performances at Northlands Festival alongside Umphrey’s McGee\, moe.\, Corey Wong\, and more. That momentum carried into a sold-out Phish After Party in NYC following Phish’s MSG New Year’s Eve run\, a show covered by Live For Live Music.\n“…yielding some of the funkiest\, most cathartic and most primal energy of the set. With catchy melodies\, impressive solos\, complex arrangements\, and shifting tempos and moods\, the band kept you on your toes and bobbing your head the entire show.”\n— NYSMusic \nWinter 2026 marked a major breakthrough for the band\, with an extremely successful national tour that packed and sold out venues across the country. Building on that momentum\, Big Shrimp is currently on their 30+ date “It’s As Shrimple As That Tour\,” revisiting key markets such as Colorado (Aggie Theatre)\, Richmond (Richmond Music Hall)\, Charleston (Charleston Pour House)\, Buffalo (Buffalo Iron Works)\, and more. \nOn the studio front\, the band released their second studio single\, “Alcaworkholic\,” in March 2026\, continuing to build toward their forthcoming debut album. \nAlongside their live momentum\, Big Shrimp has gained significant traction on TikTok\, where viral performance clips and behind-the-scenes content consistently reach 20\,000+ views\, earning the band a reputation as one of the most viral young bands in the jam and improvised rock scene. This online growth has translated directly into packed rooms and a rapidly expanding national fanbase.\nLooking ahead\, the band is set to launch Camp Scampi\, Big Shrimp’s inaugural music festival\, debuting in Addison\, NY in August 2026 — a major milestone that reflects both their growing community and independent momentum.\nWith more tours\, festival appearances\, additional live releases\, and their debut album on the horizon\, Big Shrimp is charging full steam into 2026 with no signs of slowing down.

SUMMARY:Buffalo Music: Marshall Crenshaw Band – Sportsmen's
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nMarshall Crenshaw \nWednesday\, October 28\, 2026 5pm Doors\, 7pm Show \n$40.00 + Online fee \n \n \n  \nBorn in 1953 in Detroit\, Michigan\, Marshall Crenshaw learned to tune a guitar correctly at\nage ten and has been trying ever since. His first big break came in 1978 playing John\nLennon in “Beatlemania”\, first as an understudy in New York\, then in the West Coast\ncompany\, followed by a national touring company. Removing himself from that situation in\nFeb. 1980\, Marshall settled in New York City. Enthralled by the hyper-diverse musical\nculture of the City\, and the local Rock scene in particular\, Marshall formed a Rock and Roll\nband with brother Robert on drums and Chris Donato on bass. \n  \nAfter crossing paths with the great and legendary Alan Betrock\, Marshall recorded his\ndebut single “Something’s Gonna Happen” for Betrock’s Shake Records label; at nearly the\nsame time\, legendary Rockabilly singer Robert Gordon’s recording of Marshall’s “Someday\nSomeway” was released as a single on the RCA label. These two records simultaneously\nbroke big on New York’s WNEW-FM\, causing Marshall and his trio’s local popularity to\nexplode. \n  \nAnd so began a career that’s spanned four decades\, 13 albums\, film and TV appearances\n(Buddy Holly in “La Bamba”) and thousands of live performances\nMarshall formed his current touring band in 2022\,featuring guitarist\,\nmulti-instramentalist and record producer Fernando Perdomo\,\nbassist and singer-songwriter Derrick Anderson\,\nand drummer Mark Ortmann\, founding member of the legendary Bottle Rockets. \n  \nOf his City Winery New York show last fall Infocus Visions Music & Arts Magazine hailed\,\n“Marshall Crenshaw live is an experience in itself. Forget the solo artist; this is a full\nband explosion that showcases the magic of musical synergy. Watching them on stage\nis like peeking into a creative engine room. You see the interplay\, the energy flowing\nbetween them\, how each member feeds off the others to create that signature Marshall\nCrenshaw sound.”
