SUMMARY:Buffalo Art: Stitch Buffalo\, "Zero Waste"
DESCRIPTION:Buffalo Arts Studio is excited to present Zero Waste\, an exhibition of textile work created from reclaimed materials by Stitch Buffalo refugee and immigrant artists and volunteers\, on view from February 27 through April 11\, 2026. An opening reception will be held on Friday\, February 27\, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm as part of M&T Fourth Friday at Tri-Main. \nZero Waste explores how discarded textiles can be transformed into vibrant works of art by combining sustainable practices with artistic creativity. Textile waste and clothing production continue to have a major impact on the environment. The fast fashion industry remains one of the largest consumers and polluters of water—and a major contributor to carbon emissions each year. This environmental impact is connected to the industry’s linear economy: make\, use\, and then discard. \nAbout Stitch Buffalo\nStitch Buffalo is a comprehensive textile art center committed to empowering refugee and immigrant women through the sale of their handcrafted goods\, inspiring creativity and inclusion through community education\, and stewarding the environment through the re-use of textile supplies.  \nFor more information\, please visit www.buffaloartsstudio.org

SUMMARY:Buffalo Arts Studio: Davana Robedee\, "Biformity"
DESCRIPTION:Buffalo Arts Studio is pleased to announce Biformity\, a solo exhibition by Syracuse-based artist Davana Robedee\, on view from August 22 through November 7\, 2025. The opening reception will take place on Friday\, August 22\, 2025\, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm as part of M&T Fourth Friday at Tri-Main. \nBiformity explores the layered relationship between body and spirit. Through large-scale textile pieces created using stitch-resist shibori techniques and indigo dye\, Robedee delves into the dualities that shape human existence. The title of the exhibition refers to “double form\,” a concept that permeates the show through works addressing physical limitation and spiritual expansiveness.  \nRobedee’s practice is deeply tied to labor and process. She grows her own indigo plants\, harvesting and extracting the pigment before using it in a slow\, methodical process of image-making. By guiding the indigo through boundaries and resist techniques\, the artist facilitates rather than controls the emergence of form. The dye itself functions as both a symbolic and material representation of duality and change. \nFor more information about Buffalo Arts Studio\, please visit www.buffaloartsstudio.org \nAdmission is free; suggested donation is $3 per visitor.
