Local Card Shops Host Three-Day Buffalo Trading Card Con at The Powerhouse Jan. 2-4

Special Family Night Jan. 2 features giant bounce houses, video games and kids-only card trading

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Buffalo Trading Card Con returns to The Powerhouse by Rich Entertainment Group this weekend, this time with a special Family Night on Friday. For $10 admission per person on Jan. 2, families can experience a card show designed exclusively for kids, including:

• Card trading for guests 14-and-under with the guidance of experienced collectors
• Massive Pokémon, Frozen and Star Wars bounce houses, including a 35’x30’x15’ Millennium Falcon
• Video games on a giant, 17’x11’ video board
• Vendors with cards and merchandise
• A coloring contest, prize wheel and more

The special family event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. and children 3-and-under are free.

On Saturday and Sunday, the traditional Buffalo Trading Card Con will feature 150 vendor tables showcasing Pokémon cards, other trading card game (TCG) cards, video games and custom art for purchase. General admission costs $5, with children 12-and-under free.

Local trading card store Pallet Town Poke Shop in Depew, and card show vendors RJ’s Card Store and Shake & Break 716 began hosting trading card shows at The Powerhouse last year, each drawing thousands of people.

“We’ve had a lot of interest in Buffalo Trading Card Con events, with card enthusiasts of all kinds coming out for our large-scale card show,” said Sam Hasan, owner of Pallet Town Poke Shop and Professor Sam’s Card Shop. “This time around, we’re excited to host our first-ever Family Night and offer a fun and affordable evening out for families – a perfect winter-time activity for all ages.”
