Buffalo Community: Woodshop Orientation – Safety Class

In this orientation-safety class, we introduce and use all of the major power tools in The Foundry’s Woodshop (jointer, planer, miter saw, band saw, router, and sander). Upon completion, and with a pay-what-you-can donation to The Foundry as a supporter, you’re eligible to use our makerspaces during Open Maker Hours (Monday’s 6-9pm and Saturday’s 9am-1pm) to continue to hone your new skills and work on personal projects with support from our trained supervisors.

At the end of the class, you will have a strong understanding of the woodshop and it’s tools. Plus you will make your own cheese board to take home!

 

Safety: Close toed shoes are required. PPE such as masks, eye and ear protection will be provided.

 

Class Cost: $80 (materials fee included)

 

Class Size: Min 4/ Max 6

 

Notice: This class needs to meet the minimum enrollment in order to run. Participants will be notified of cancellation the Monday prior to the class if needed. In case of cancellation, participants can choose another scheduled date if available or request a refund.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class starts to fill out the liability waver.
