Buffalo Music: The Pat Harrington Trio with special guest Jeremy Keyes

February 5 @ 7:00 pm
$5 – $10

The Blues Society of Western New York proudly presents The Pat Harrington Trio with special guest Jeremy Keyes at the Tacoma Performing Arts Center!

Pat Harrington is widely recognized in the blues music world as a guitarist of rare command and expressive range, whose work spans blues, rock, jazz, and soul-inflected roots music. A Grammy-nominated recording artist and longtime sideman for critically acclaimed pianist and bandleader Victor Wainwright & The Train, Pat has helped shape a contemporary sound that’s both reverent to tradition and forward-leaning in its energy and improvisational flair. Harrington’s guitar can be heard on the 2018 album Victor Wainwright and The Train, a record nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album, where critics highlighted his solos as “outstanding” and his tone as integral to the group’s vibrant dynamic. Tracks like “Wiltshire Grave,” “Train,” and “Sunshine” showcase his ability to deliver fiery leads that are soulful and succinct, perfectly matched with Wainwright’s boogie-laden piano and horn arrangements.
Before riding with The Train, Pat honed his chops in the Buffalo and Western New York scene, building a reputation for improvisational fluency and stylistic versatility. He’s also performed alongside notable artists including Gary Clark Jr. and Bobby Whitlock of Derek and the Dominos, experiences that have broadened his musical palette and enriched his approach to the blues.
With his own Pat Harrington Trio, he continues to push into spaces where blues, jazz, and rock intersect. You can hear his work on YouTube performance videos, Spotify and other streaming platforms, and through recordings with Victor Wainwright & The Train. His live performances — marked by “smoke-soaked solos and high-octane energy” — reaffirm that his guitar voice remains one of the most compelling in the region.
Whether on record or on stage, Pat Harrington’s playing is bold, expressive, and deeply rooted in American music — a bridge between tradition and innovation that makes every performance feel both grounded and electrifying.
