Community Gardening & Earth Day on the East Side!

April 18 @ 10:00 am
Free
Join us Saturday, April 18th from 10AM to 1PM for Earth Day on the East Side. RSVPs through this link are encouraged, but not required. We will be partnering with East Side Stewards, Farmer Pirates Cooperative, the Winslow Ave. Fillmore to Kehr Block Club, and Square Block Club.
Folks may donate to East Side Stewards  through this link. Their mission is to “transform Buffalo’s East Side into a thriving, sustainable community by revitalizing green spaces, redeveloping vacant land into shared community assets, building pathways for a greener workforce, and ensuring residents have equitable access to the resources needed to live, work, and grow in place.”
Colored Girls Bike Too is also raising money and hosting a Spring kickoff event, which will be held at 1353 Jefferson Ave., tomorrow, April 3rd from 4pm to 7pm, and Saturday, April 4th, from 2pm to 5pm. CGBT is a mobility justice and cycling organization centering Black women through the transformative power of the bike. CGBT has also continued to engage in mutual aid work throughout Buffalo’s East Side, including food shares with community members.  Donations may be made via their cashapp $ColoredGirlsBikeToo
Lastly, Liberation for One, Liberation for All (LOLA) is hosting upcoming canvasses through their Communities Not Cops Campaign, to collect 500 postcards to send to Mayor Sean Ryan in opposition to the proposed police training facility and shooting range at 379 Paderewski, in Buffalo’s Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood. Sign up to canvass here and help cover their mutual aid efforts and legal expenses through this link.
