Infringement ’25: Day 10 … Wonders of Ol’ Wondermoth and Sneers
By Lindsay DePietro
A day spent Infringing on the lawn of Ol’ Wondermoth, soaking up the summer sun, is a day well spent.
It was a busy day at Ol’ Wondermoth, one of the Nickel City Housing Coop’s two houses, with a nice sized crowd spread out about the front lawn. People could be seen chatting in groups, relaxing in lawn chairs while snacking or full-on grubbing on meals they brought, and dancing to the music. Many were enjoying chunks of watermelon, likely brought to share by a festival-goer, or sipping on a beverage from the blue community cooler that was set up.
Rat Hazard.exe was the first band of the day I ventured to see. Audience members enjoyed the nice weather while vibing out to this trio’s music. A few individuals even got up out of their lawn chairs and danced around to the beat.
Dante DiGiulio and Dave Maguire were next up to perform. DiGiulio sat in a chair at the top of the steps of Ol’ Wondermoth, playing the harmonica and the guitar, singing and even tapping away with his foot tambourine. Over at the front of the porch stood Maguire in his cut-off plaid shirt and beret, also strumming away on the guitar.
I made a quick trip over to Allen Street Hardware where the post-punk band, The Sneers, were cranking it. The band gave an electric performance, and they looked like they were having a blast while doing it. Sneer members could be seen bouncing and jumping around, headbanging and stomping their feet while jamming on the guitar or in between singing lines. It was an ear-blasting set, especially for a small bar, and the music hit me from down the street as I made my way over.
Rushing back to Ol’ Wondermoth, I caught YAWNi making her way onto the porch in her all white outfit, extra-large cowboy hat, and glittered-adorned face. She introduced herself to the crowd in a series of warped, comical voices, thanks to some kind of voice-modifying effect. YAWNi gave a pleasant performance, strumming away on her guitar and singing in her sweet country-like voice.

Sadly, the days have quickly passed by, and only one more day of the Buffalo Infringement Festival 2025 remains. Performances will take place all day long on this last day, as well as into the night. The festival’s closing ceremonies will be taking place at Milkie’s tonight (Sunday, Aug. 3), beginning at 9 p.m, and will run until 1 a.m.
