It’s time to show off your new “going to see live comedy” clothes.

Thursday, Aug 28

Buffalo Improv House, 255 Great Arrow Ave., Suite 207, Buffalo.
Improv Mixer, a relaxed environment to try out improv or just to watch. Sign-ups at 6:45 p.m., 7 start. $5 suggested or pay what you can. 

Cagematch, an improv tradition, comes to Buffalo Improv House. Two teams perform for audience laughs and votes to be crowned winner for the night. Then the winning team returns the next week to defend their title against a new team. 9 p.m., tickets $5.

Open mic comedy on the second floor. Sign-ups at 7 p.m,  Free.

The Caz, 2221 Seneca St., Buffalo. 8 p.m., tickets $15. 

Comedy at the Caz, local and out of town comics come together for comedy in the heart of South Buffalo. This week’s lineup includes New York City based comics Laura High and Dave Columbo, along with locals Chelsea Mae and Cindy Arena.

Helium Comedy Club, 30 Mississippi Street, Buffalo. 7:30, tickets $32.99 – 42.99.

Sean Fogelson brings his TIkTok persona “Than One Mailman” to Buffalo for one night. Fogelson used his social media presence as a springboard to standup and then went on tour with Gary Owen.

Buffalo Comedy Collective, 155 Chandler Street, Buffalo. 8 p.m., tickets $20. 

Chicago based standups Joe Fernandez and Grace Piotrowski co-headline a night of comedy, hosted by local comic Brody Walsh.

Fallsview Casino Resort, 6380 Fallsview Blvd. Niagara Falls, Ontario. 8 p.m., tickets starting at $59.82.

Jimmy O. Yang brings his “Big & Tall” tour to WNY. Yang has two standup specials “Guess How Much” and “Good Deal.” He also has acted in Silicon Valley, Crazy Rich Asians, Love Hard and Space Force, where he also served as a writer. 

Friday – Sunday, Aug 29 – 31 

Helium Comedy Club, 30 Mississippi Street, Buffalo. Tickets $33.99 – 42.99.

Michael Colyar is an actor, author and comedian. Colyar was dubbed the “King of Venice Beach” for performing every weekend, 5 shows a day for nine years straight on Venice Beach. He is currently performing his one man play called “Michael COLYAR’S Momma” and will be launching a 100 plus city tour.

Friday, Aug 29 

Buffalo Comedy Collective, 155 Chandler Street, Buffalo.  

Comedy Sportz match-up. Two teams “competitively” play short form improv games with suggestions from the audience, who also decides the winner. 7:30 p.m., tickets $18. 

Dynamic Duos, six roster members from CSz Pros and BCC Shorties Program are paired up for two-person scenes. After each pair performs, the audience votes for their favorite scene and the pairs switch to do it all again, twice. The performer with the most points by the end wins. 9:30 p.m., tickets $18.

Improv Collider, two of the BIH’s house teams perform on a double bill. 7 p.m., tickets $10 presale or $15 general admission. 

“Confessions,” where audience members can put their secrets and confessions into the “Bucket Of Truth,” and they will be read aloud, then used as inspiration for improv scenes. 8 p.m., tickets starting $12 presale or $15 general admission.

The New Friday Mixer, same as Thursday’s mixer, just a later time. 9:30 p.m., tickets $5. 

Saturday, Aug 30

Buffalo Comedy Collective, 155 Chandler Street, Buffalo.  2 p.m., tickets $18.

ComedySportz Saturday match-up special courtyard edition. Bring chairs, blankets, or whatever you’d like to sit on & enjoy a free Ernie’s Popsicle to watch two teams “competitively” play short form improv games with suggestions from the audience, who also decides the winner. In case of rain, the match will move indoors.  

Artpark,  Artpark 450 South 4th St, Lewiston.7 p.m., tickets starting at $40.

Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood, from TV’s “Whose Line is it Anyway?,” take the stage without a script for their “Asking for Trouble.” tour. Mochrie and Sherwood transform the audience’s suggestions into an unpredictable evening of comedy. 

Monday, Sept 1

Labor Day

Rust Belt Comedy Showcase, Buffalo’s longest running comedy open mic hosted by Jake Samson (2022 Buffalo Funniest winner), and Jake Piskor (2025 Buffalo Funniest top three finalist). Free. 

Matinee, 698 Main St., Buffalo, 8 p.m.

Train Stop Comedy, a new comedy open mic on Main Street with host Mamudu Kargbo. For all levels of comics and audiences. Free. 

Wednesday, Sept 3

Comedy Open Mic Comedy. Sign-ups at 7 or online, show starts at 9ish p.m. Hosted by Jesse Winterhalter. Free.
