Tuesday, Oct. 15, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Tuesday Night Open Mic Series at the Em Tea Coffeecup Café. All are welcome whether be you new to poetry or a long-time member of the community. 80 Oakgrove Ave., Buffalo, NY. Free and open to the public.

Wednesday, Oct. 16, 7:30 p.m.: The Screening Room Reading Series hosted by poet Sandy Geary. Featured reader is poet Jane Sadowsky. Open mic reading slots available. The Screening Room Cinema Café, 880 Alberta Drive, Amherst. $3.

Wednesday, Oct. 16, 9 p.m.: Poetry Night at Caffe Aroma, biweekly open mic reading series hosted by Ben Brindise and Justin Karcher. 957 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo. Free and open to the public.

Thursday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m.: Buffalo Corner Reading Series featuring poets Shana Hill and Alexis Ivy. This will be an live event streamed via Zoom only. Visit shirshalombuffalo.org for more information and the Zoom link to this free event.

Friday, Oct. 18, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.: State of the Future: A Poetry Slam/Showcase. Join the Buffalo Futures digital collaborative platform at Buffalo State University for an evening of inspiring poetry and performances. The event will feature an exciting lineup of poets and artists, including Ten Thousand, A.I. The Anomaly, Labrina, Cordz, and more. General admission: $25. Social Hall, Buffalo State University, 1300 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 18, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.: The Buffalo History Museum presents: An Evening with Adam Zyglis, a conversation with the Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist for the Buffalo News as it opens its newest exhibit, “Ink & Insight: 20 Years of Adam Zyglis Cartoons.” For the past two decades, 2015 Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist Adam Zyglis has created more than 4,000 pieces of visual commentary for The Buffalo News, keeping his pen on the pulse of local, national, and international news. The discussion will be moderated by Buffalo News Editorial Writer and Columnist Elizabeth Licata.This is a ticketed event. $25 admission, $15 for museum members.Doors open at 5:30pm. The program begins at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Buffalo History Museum, One Museum Court in Buffalo.
