Buffalo Music: Tampa-based band brings brutal death metal

By Benjamin Joe

Law of Causality is touring the Rust Belt, with a stop at Milkie’s on Elmwood on Thursday, Nov. 6.

This is the first out-of-state tour for the Tampa Bay-based brutal death metal band and is a four-day trip that hits Detroit, Pittsburgh and Milford, Ohio, as well as Buffalo.

“It’s our first experience going out of state and we DIY booked the whole thing,” said Big J, the guitarist of the quintet after being contacted on Instagram.

Big  J also said that the band intends to check out the Buffalo and Niagara Falls locale while in the area.

Law of Causality is inspired by bands like Cephalotripsy, Cerebral Incubation and 357 Homicide to name a few. The two other bands on the bill include Tarbucket, a Buffalo two-piece which released its first full length album in October, and Fleshmower.

Fleshmower is a Buffalo-band and is excited to play the show.

“Fleshmower brings blast beats, breakdowns and slams. Our only goal is to be brutal and pit inducing,” the band said when contacted.

The band started in November of 2024. It recorded and released its first demo in January of 2025., and an EP just came out on Vile Tapes.

Fleshmower will be playing more in 2026, but this Thursday will be the band’s last appearance before the new year.

“We love the Buffalo music scene and appreciate everyone’s support,” they said.

As for Tarbucket, while this is not its album release party, the band will have CDs for sale.

Tarbucket drummer Tony P. Worrell said of their showmates, “What will we expect from the other bands? Simple. A good chuggin’ time.”
