CORE VALUES: Radical Operations to perform at Area 54
Buffalo Music: Touring band Terror Babies also on the bill
By Benjamin Joe
Radical Operations will be headlining a punk show at Area 54 tonight (Friday, Feb. 20.
Mike Clifford of Broken Locker, who also will be playing, was excited to announce the bill will include Brutal Llama, Cardboard Homestead, Broken Locker and Terror Babies — from Brooklyn — along with “legends” Radical Operations.
“The show is going to be sick!!” he said. “It’s a punk show that’s showcasing a variety of styles.”
Describing Cardboard Homestead as “folk punk legends” and Terror Babies as having a “garage power pop sound that rocks,” Clifford said Brutal Llama were “Local boys” who will play covers and originals.
“This show is going to be a banger,” he concluded.
Terror Babies said over Instagram their sound was probably the least hardcore of any of the other bands, but “we’re a bunch of genuine weirdos making unique rock n roll for our troubled times. I think we put on a good show.”
As for the headliners, Radical Operations said there had been some problems trying to schedule a show with Broken Locker previously and they had never played with either Brutal Llama or Terror Babies, but that a “goddamn good time” was to be expected. They did perform with Cardboard Homestead at Area 54 earlier this year.

The band was formed in Clarence in 2011 and plays a mix of ’80s hardcore punk and ’90s skate punk.
“Our songs are short, fast and made for flailing your limbs about. No one ever leaves a Rad Ops show without getting their money’s worth from us,” they said.
Doors open at 7 p.m.
