WNY Music: The Great American Music Showcase, Pt. 2, featuring Almost Seamus, Mark Winsick, Mike Skowronski and Alison Pipitone

July 24 @ 8:00 am
$10

WNY Music: Show at West End Inn brings a new twist on the blues with Almost Seamus, Mark Winsick, Mike Skowronski and Alison Pipitone

The Buffalo Hive is proud to announce part 2 of The Great American Music Showcase, our collaboration with the Blues Society of Western New York. This time we’re taking it to the Southtowns, specifically the West End Inn (340 Union St.) on Aug. 29. The show will run from 4 to 10 p.m., and you can get tickets HERE. One of the show’s features is we’re trying to take a look at the blues from different perspectives. For example, we’re really curious to see what Almost Seamus — which is known for its Celtic sounds — brings to the mix. It’s going to be fun! The show also has a hometown blues thing going on, as all of the performers have Hamburg links. For example, Mark Winsick grew up in Hamburg, playing with people such as Buffalo Music Hall of Famers Peter Case, Gurf Morlix and Jim Whitford as a teen, and he can bring some hardcore blues. Likewise Alison Pipitone and Mike Skowronski have deep Hamburg connections. The show is also The Buffalo Hive’s first venture into the southtowns and the first in awhile for the Blues Society. We’ll be letting you know more about the show as it gets closer, but suffice to say we’re excited! Admission is $10, but $5 at the door for members of The Buffalo Hive or the Blues Society.
