Infringement ’25: Day 4 … music and more

By Lindsay DePietro

Day four of my Infringement Journey consisted of a mix of enjoyable tunes and well, I’m not quite sure how to describe the rest, but it was an interesting day to say the least.

The day started off at Allen Street Hardware with a performance by singer and guitarist MYQ. Through his music, MYQ depicts a range of different stories. One song he performed told the story of how his friend turned out to be a Nazi and how he said goodbye to their friendship.

The next performance was another solo singer with his guitar performing at Eugene V. Debs Hall. Although the bar was pretty desolate at the time, the singer, inSINcere, didn’t let that stop him from putting on a show.

Back at Allen Street Hardware, the band Mini Marching Machine was in full swing. Although their playing was enjoyable, what was most impressive was their ability to fit nine musicians and all their equipment, including a drum set, keyboard and cello, into the tiny corner of the bar.

When I arrived at Milkie’s Elmwood Lounge is when things got interesting.

The beautiful Macy Butterfly performed a burlesque dance for the sparse crowd, busting out some unique moves.

Now this last performance is something I don’t think I’ll ever get to witness again. An individual dressed up in a pope costume lip-syncing to “Miracle Man” by Ozzy Osbourne and jamming out on a half-deflated blue inflatable guitar that looked like it was won at a fair a few years back. Unfortunately, the Pope hat fell off five seconds into the performance due to all the head banging to Ozzy Osbourne.

To view the list of performances for Sunday, July 27, visit either the Infringement website for the full schedule, or the Buffalo Hive Calendar.

Editor’s note: For transparency’s sake, it should be noted that MYQ (Michael Farrow) is a member of The Buffalo Hive Board of Directors.
