Infringement: The Last Infringers Standing

Buffalo Infringement Festival 2024 has come to an end, so thoughts and opinions? We have plenty.
I would like to take a moment to look back at past performances from Saturday. Due to my switch into artist mode, I carelessly left out noteworthy performances like the Hayatidance Troupe. They were graceful and beautiful. The film screenings at Rust Belt Books were clever and brought a new appreciation for film creation. The brain of the artist fascinates me.
On the final day of Infringement, Ol’ Wondermoth hosted some of the final Infringers. I saw many familiar faces; they’re lifers at this point. El the Mime returned, Kidfringement was too cute and Mini Marching Machine led the procession back to Niezsche’s for the closing ceremonies.
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo hosted four short plays by female writers as part of a female empowerment series and also an electronic group called Auxcab.
Down at Nietzsche’s, Detritvs (a genre blending artist) gave a therapy concert. Whelp (a upbeat rock group) was all positive vibes and amazing instrumentation. They even refused to be tipped and asked that tips be donated to the festival.
Yass Queen Productions and Grave Glamour Draglesque Drag and Burlesque Show came with the productions, looks and drama. They were an amazing close to this incredible festival.
I would like to thank the Buffalo Infringement Committee, the volunteers, artists, editor Elmer Ploetz, the venues and most of all the audience. Your hard work has not gone on unnoticed.
Infringement has and will always be for artists by artists and for you. The availability of these types of events that are not guided by big money interest are rare. Perhaps my articles are the first you’re hearing of this festival. If so, I am honored. Next year, Infringement turns 21 and we intend to still be standing. We need your support to continue providing platforms for underrepresented artists and art forms.
