Buffalo Films: ‘Sinners,’ ‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You’ also win multiple awards

The Greater Western New York Film Critics Association has announced its eighth annual awards for 2025 releases, led by “One Battle After Another,” “Sinners” and “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.”

“One Battle,” described as a black comedy action-thriller,” won for best picture, with director Paul Thomas Anderson taking best director. It also won in five other categories. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro and  Regina Hall.

“Sinners,” a horror piece set in the 1930s, captured three wins (best screenplay, best score and best supporting actress for Wunmi Mosaku.

“If I Had Legs,” described as a  psychological comedy-drama film, took best actress for Rose Byrne and breakthrough director for Mary Bronstein.

The Greater Western New York Film Critics Associaton is a group of critics from the Buffalo and Rochester regions, including print and online writers.
