During the recording of his solo album, Poisons Sipped, David Michael Miller, members of the world famous Campbell Brothers and a small ensemble of both internationally known and talented musicians came together to form, “Miller and The Other Sinners.”
Miller and The Other Sinners has been touring the 26 states, plus Canada, for the last 9 years with over 1,400 shows in various sized venues and festivals. The band has opened for/worked with The Steve Miller Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Rusted Root, Joe Bonamassa, Kingfish, Eric Gales, to name a few; played festivals such as Telluride Blues and Brews, Musikfest, New York State Blues, Blues in the Bay, Borderland, Lilac, Fairport; and great rooms like the Tralf Music Hall, Redstone Room, the famous Double Door (now closed) and Madlife Stage & Studios. Whether on festival stages or in smaller venues, MATOS always brings a positive vibe and energy to each show. Music heals!
MATOS is founder, David Michael Miller, on guitar & vocals who also does the majority of the songwriting and producing. Steve Davis is the multi-talented man behind the keys, playing key bass, organ and additional vocals. Behind the drumset is one of the most dynamic and gifted young drummers nationally, Isaiah Griffin. Our horn section includes the amazing Dalton Sharp on saxophone and renowned trumpeter, Paul Gaspar. When budget allows, we also bring in incredibly talented backup singers, Rena Williams (BET’s Sunday Best finalist), Jasmine Neeley and Ashely Nicole Brown.
David Michael Miller, founder, lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for Miller and The Other Sinners, is a well-established musician in the Western New York music scene, for 6 years fronting the band, Dive House Union. David has shared the stage with artists such as Tedeschi Trucks Band, Steve Miller Band, Joe Bonamassa, Jonny Lang, Gary Clark Jr., Bobby Blue Bland, Jimmie Vaughan, Shemekia Copeland, Eric Gales and many others. He represented the WNY Blues Society in 2013 and 2014 at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in both the Band and Solo/Duo categories. He continues to participate in the Blues in the Schools program in Western New York. In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, he was presented with the best Male Blues Vocalist Award by Buffalo’s Night Life Magazine and in 2015 was presented with the Arts Services Institute award for “Artist of the Year.”
David has built on the successful independent release of his first solo album in 2014, Poisons Sipped, which landed in the top 25 Blues Rock Albums of 2014 on the Roots Music Report. His 2nd album, Same Soil, debuted at #11 the second week of July on the RMR Blues chart and then climbed to #3 with two songs in the top 50 Blues songs played worldwide on radio and internet radio. David next released a live record with his band Miller and The Other Sinners called “3 Nights at the Strand”, followed by an EP, “Rise,” during COVID. Shortly after the band put together a home studio and self engineered, mixed and mastered their most recent album, “Thieves In The Breadline,” in April of 2024. January, 2025 they tracked another live album at The Caz to be released in the near future.
