Podcast: Mark Hodges joins Rockabilly Greg in the Flamingo Lounge for ‘Rockabilly 2 Rachmaninoff’

This week marks the beginning of the ninth season of “In the Flamingo Lounge” and the fifth session of “Rockabilly 2 Rachmaninoff,” a captivating series promising unique insights from a featured guest from the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. New episodes in the series drop every two months on the second Saturday. 

Mark Hodges is the Principal Percussionist of the Grammy Award–winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. An accomplished recording artist, he has appeared on more than 60 recordings with the BPO and has also recorded extensively with the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra. He has toured internationally across multiple continents, performing both standard and contemporary repertoire.

Alongside his performing career, Hodges is deeply committed to education. He serves on the percussion faculty at the Eastman School of Music and SUNY Buffalo State University, and is a highly sought-after clinician, adjudicator, and lecturer.

Mark’s work also extends beyond the concert hall and classroom. He is the founder of Druminar, a Buffalo-based program that uses music-driven, hands-on experiences to support corporate training, leadership development, and team building. Through Druminar, Mark works with organizations to strengthen communication and collaboration, partnering with Fortune 100 companies, national banks, international manufacturers, and nonprofit organizations.

Hodges holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music/ Case Western Reserve University, and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Capella University.
