What makes this play special and why did you decide to do it? From First Look’s Bob Rusch:

Like every play we produce at First Look Buffalo, this is a new work written by a member of our playwright wing. “Preservation” stood out for its compelling storyline and characters. It’s a drama with funny moments as well that asks the question what is the cost to the living by protecting the dead. It’s a story about finding the truth and how the truth is sometimes very different than what many would agree upon. It’s really a fabulous story that we wanted to help bring to life right here in WNY.

What sets this production of the play apart from others? Besides being the first play we’ve produced by playwright member Deborah Yarchun, this play focuses on secrets and mystery in a way that our past productions haven’t. The audience is presented with a very clear question and then follow the hero’s journey as she seeks the truth. Does this question get answered? You’ll have to come see for yourselves.

Is there anything else the audience should know? There is a moment of strong sexual content so it’s not for anyone under the age of 16. The show is a wonderful blend of great storytelling and direction, fabulous acting and a really cool set design that takes full advantage of technical aspects available to us at the Canterbury Woods Performing Arts Center which includes their projector and screen.

What is the show website? http://www.FirstLookBuffalo.com. Tickets are available there. Performances run through Feb. 7.
