Upcoming: Samara Joy Brings ‘A Joyful Holiday’ To Buffalo
Tuesday, December 17 at UB’s Center for the Arts
Samara Joy McLendon was just 19 years old when she won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and a 21 year-old college student when her debut album “Samara Joy” was released. Since then she has won three Grammys and released three albums, including “A Joyful Holiday” which features her family of renowned jazz and gospel musicians.
The McLendon Family, led by Samara’s father Antonio, will be joined by her uncle Laurone McLendon and her cousins Tiera Lovell Rowe and Thomas Niblack in what will certainly be a memorable jazz-gospel Christmas celebration.

The Buffalo Hive will be there, so look for Frank Housh’s review and lots of photos from Kirsten Anderson.
