A high number of Nobel Prize winners were born in June. Most of us will never get that check for 11 million Swedish kronor, but you can still do the noblest thing and see live comedy.  

Thursday, June 5

Buffalo Improv House, 255 Great Arrow Ave., Suite 207, Buffalo.
Improv Mixer, a relaxed environment to try out improv or just to watch. Sign-ups at 6:45 p.m., 7 start. $5 suggested or pay what you can. 

Mr. Goodbar, 1110 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, 8 p.m.
Open mic comedy on the second floor. Sign-ups at 7 p.m,  Free.

Misuta Chow’s, 521 Main St., Buffalo, 7 p.m., free. 
Comedy Showcase, first Thursday of every month. Pair your ramen with punchlines. A different line-up of local comics every month and if you haven’t been downtown lately, you can drive on Main street again.

The Caz, 2221 Seneca St., Buffalo. 7:30 p.m., tickets starting at $19. 
Comedy at the Caz, local and out of town comics come together for comedy in the heart of South Buffalo. 

Helium Comedy Club, 30 Mississippi Street, Buffalo, 7:30 p.m., tickets $13 – 40.99.
Mark Gagnon comes to Helium for one night. Gagnon co-hosts the ‘Flagrant’ podcast and is climbing the comedy ladder. 

Friday – Saturday, June 6 – 7

Helium Comedy Club, 30 Mississippi Street, Buffalo, tickets $48.99 – 58.99.
Corey Holcomb will perform five shows in Buffalo, including three shows on Saturday. Known as the “Ghetto Dr. Phil,” Holcomb’s comedy has a lot of relatable relationship material. His podcast, “The Corey Holcomb 5150 Show,” can be found on YouTube or CoreyHolcomb.com. 

Friday, June 6

Buffalo Improv House, 255 Great Arrow Ave., Suite 207, Buffalo. 
Improv Collider, two of the BIH’s house teams perform on a double bill. 7 p.m., tickets $10.71. 

Given Half A Chance, pairs an actor, prepared with lines from a selected play, with a comic who  improvises their lines in response to the actor. 8 p.m., tickets $12.27.

The New Friday Mixer, same as Thursday’s mixer, just a later time. 9:30 p.m., $10 suggested. 

Buffalo Comedy Collective, 155 Chandler Street, Buffalo.
Comedy Sportz match-up. Two teams “competitively” play short form improv games with suggestions from the audience, who also decides the winner. 7:30 p.m., tickets $18. 

Improv Jam, improvisers of all experience levels are welcome for a $5 bucket jam. Just show up, put your name in the bucket for a chance to perform multiple times. 9:30 p.m.

Kenan Center, 433 Locust St., Lockport. 8 p.m., tickets starting at $16.30.
Kenan After Dark. Lockport’s standup comedy show with local comedians, a bar, and a free drink with each ticket. 

Fallsview Casino Resort, 6380 Fallsview Blvd., Niagara Falls. 9 p.m., tickets starting at $66. 
Eddie Griffin started his comedy career on a dare and became a successful standup, then transitioned to a successful movie career. But he may be best known for the time he crashed a rare Enzo Ferrari.

The First Friday Comedy Corner show, a monthly show starring local comics. 

Saturday, June 7

Buffalo Comedy Collective, 155 Chandler Street, Buffalo.  
ComedySportz Saturday match-up. Two teams “competitively” play short form improv games with suggestions from the audience, who also decide the winner. 6 p.m., tickets $18. 

Murder in The Wild West. An immersive murder mystery show where the audience plays  detective, gathering clues around the venue and piecing together the events surrounding Sheriff Ryder’s untimely demise. 8:15 p.m., tickets $35.

“Various Factors,” a Broadway-esque improv musical comedy show where everything is made up on the spot, including lyrics, melodies and choreography. All inspired from audience suggestions. 7 p.m., tickets starting at $15.91.

Mike Hanley headlines Rob’s Playhouse. Hanley has appeared on the “Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” and can be heard on Sirius/XM.

Sunday, June 8

Sunday comedy at Revolver Records. Along with comedians, there will be live DJ’s and the bar and store will be open.

Rust Belt Comedy Showcase, Buffalo’s longest running comedy open mic. Free.
