Welcome back to The Music Box, a place where contributors of The Buffalo Hive discuss new releases from local musicians. This week, we’re diving into Cami Clune ….
Cami Clune’s ‘Summer Fantasy’ video
Local singer/songwriter Cami Clune is most highly recognized for her appearance as a semifinalist on Season 19 of The Voice.
Clune frequently plays local venues as both a solo artist and with her band, Cami & The Fringe. She also performs the music of Taylor Swift in themed sing-along nights fit with costumes and references, called “The Eras Experience.”
On Aug. 8, Clune released a new music video for “Summer Fantasy,” which co-stars Joe Veronica, Elisabeth Manente.
The video itself is cinematically stunning. A whopping 5 minutes and 39 seconds, the video is filled with gorgeous scenery.
For the Swifties, it reminds me a lot of the “All Too Well” music video, which might be intentional given Clune’s Swift-inspired performances.
However, Clune’s video is unique and certainly her own. Her smooth vocals overlay each scene as she beautifully crafts the story.
The song itself was originally released back on September 20, 2024. With over a thousand streams, many of her fans anticipated the release.
Clune also held a release party at Nietzche’s on Wednesday, July 23, with a live performance from Cami & The Fringe.
A portion of the proceeds from the event benefited Clune’s friend Will Leach, who is battling astrocytoma, a terminal brain cancer. Leach also appeared in the new video.
