Monica Power’s Today in Local Music and Community is unavailable today, so instead we’re offering a list of a few of the events that are going on in the area (most drawn from our events calendar).

Today is the last day for the Marisol exhibit at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. It’s an incredibly significant exhibition and worth catching if you haven’t been there yet. Here’s our review.

Jazz Monday at Tappo, 330 Ellicott St. The weekly jazz series alternates between Dozo My Lady (featuring Carolyn Lansom) and the Kathy Carr Trio.

Blue Monday at the Charter Place (lower level of the Tacoma Performing Arts Center, 351 Tacoma Place), featuring Jack Civiletto & the Underground with special guest Donna Rose. 6 p.m. Free.

Cult Mother in “Faded Rainbow”, performed live with media in the Hallwalls Screening Room, 341 Delaware Ave., 7 p.m. $8 general admission, $5 for Hallwalls members. It’s a take on the “Wizard of Oz” unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

The Jazz Jam at the Gypsy Parlor, 376 Grant St., featuring Becky Davis & the Gypsy Parlor Jazz Jam Band, 7 p.m. Free.

Nietzsche’s Open Mic/Songwriter Showcase, 248 Allen St., with songwriter showcase starting at 8, open mic at 9. Free.
