Trimania … What can you say but ‘Wow!’

By Elmer Ploetz

So Trimania Reboot happened Saturday night. It’s a little hard to describe, but it was … amazing.

There were some 3,000 people expected for the event, and it seemed like all of that and more came to the Tri-Main Center. The event played out a little like Music Is Art, but indoors, condensed to five hours and with dense crowds and a true cacophony (the old Trico and Ford factory has lots of hard surfaces and comes with plenty of echoes).

The big difference between MIA and Trimania is that Trimania is a fundraiser for the Buffalo Arts Studio, so there is a significant ticket price (MIA is free). But both events are community builders, bringing together artists and performers from all corners of the community so the audience can just stroll along and partake of a smorgasbord of talent, including many artists that they might not encounter in their usual artistic habitats.

We didn’t get to venture too far from our Buffalo Hive vantage point in Suite 402, where the editor (me) and the Buffalo Hive Board of Directors were spinning Western New York tunes and introducing the Hive to visitors, but here are a few images and videos from the Trimania Reboot 2025:

Let’s start with a couple of videos from our Buffalo Hive quarters in the suite of Barbara A Campagna/Architecture & Planning, PLLC/Illuminate Business Consulting (thanks to our hosts, Barbara and Joanne Campagna).

Curtis Lovell, who is part of our Board of Directors, performed this thoroughly modern take on a traditional song,.

Also performing in our area was Tyler Bagwell, one of Buffalo’s foremost music historians and folksingers. Here he sings one of his orginal songs, with Sally Schaefer on fiddle. It’s perfectly appropriate for Buffalo weather this time of year.

We weren’t able to catch video of Marc & Marcy, the other performers in our space, but they provided a great set of music you would love to hear in a Paris cafe.

Meanwhile, here are more photos from contributor Abby Rose. It’s almost impossible to capture the full breadth of activities going on, but here is a random sampling.

Owl Lounge
The MYQ Farrow Acoustic Trio
Naryan Padmanabha
David Adamczyk
Ten Cent Howl

And finally, we’ll close it out with a bit of free jazz from the BPD Trio.
