The Sportsmen’s Tavern celebrated its 40th anniversary of ownership by Dwane and Denise Hall and their family on Saturday.

The Halls have turned it into a model business, hosting local and national shows and anchoring the revival of their Amherst Street neighborhood in Black Rock.

Here is an assemblage of performances from both Sportsmen’s Park and the Tavern. Somehow we missed the performances in The Cave, the third venue in the Sportsmen’s complex.

Featured are: Wilcox Mansion The Informers The Steam Donkeys The Shadows The Morvells (with Gretchen Schulz) Rex Hobart & the Wrecks Joe Baudo Jazz (with DeeAnn DiMeo) John & Mary & the Valkyries The Twang Gang (with Dee Adams and John Culliton Mahoney). It exits, as it should, with Dwane Hall doing a guitar solo.

Who did we miss? The Allison Pipitone Band and the Buffalo Dead All-Stars. Wish we could have caught them!
