War Bond has put out its first full-length album, “An Act of Treason” and is celebrating the release at Area 54 on Friday (April 24) along with some friends.

“The other bands on the bill are some of our good friends who we love to play shows with, but don’t always get to,” said Ky Reynolds, front vocalist of War Bond.

Supporting acts include Hold Out, who Reynolds describes as a band he is always going to for backing. Reynolds said he and his bandmates have been fans of Mark Miller and Hold Out since before War Bond even began to play together and the band is a “big supporter.”

“Mark especially has always been a big supporter of us and showed us a lot of love through the last year,” Reynolds said in a texted response.

Other notable bands on the bill include Bile Study, the femme-fronted power violence, fast riffy four-piece, who recently released their seven-song debut “Bite The Hand, Take What’s Mine” in January.

“We agreed to play to play ’cause War Bond is GOAT-ed,” they said to a short question-answer session over Instagram.

Hostile Makeover is also excited to play the release show, saying they intend to bring fun, but “politically charged hardcore punk” to the show, which clearly correlates with War Bond’s own distinctly transgressive brand.

“The reason we’re playing this release show is because we’re good friends with War Bond and we believe what they have to say is important. War Bond is very clear on what they stand for and we really f*ck with that,” they said.

Slam Dunk is also playing the show, rounding the show to four supporting acts for the headliner.

Reynolds said Slam Dunk were especially good friends.

“Slam Dunk have always been real cool to us and showed a lot of love and we always love getting to play with them. We brought them with us to Cleveland for the first show of our tour earlier this year, and we’re definitely going to continue doing cool sh*t with them,” Reynolds said.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 8 p.m. Area 54 is at 3234 Main St., Buffalo.
