Hispanic Women’s League to host 46th annual Scholarship & Community Awards event

The Hispanic Women’s League (HWL) is proud to announce its 46th Annual Scholarship & Community Awards Brunch, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Classics V Banquet & Conference (2425 Niagara Falls Blvd,, Amherst.

For more than four decades, the Hispanic Women’s League (HWL) has empowered Latinas through education, advocacy and leadership development — awarding over $450,000 in scholarships to more than 300 women. Today, HWL continues that mission by expanding scholarship opportunities to reflect the diverse and evolving paths Latinas take to achieve their goals, supporting recipients enrolled in community colleges, universities, online learning platforms, trade schools and professional development Programs.

This year’s brunch celebrates that commitment by honoring scholarship recipients and recognizing community leaders who exemplify HWL’s values of service, leadership and advancement of Hispanic women and families. This year’s Scholarship and Community awards recipients:

The event will run from 10 am. to 2 p.m.

“This event is about more than celebrating academic success — it’s about creating opportunities that re-flect the many ways Latinas are redefining education and success in our community,” said Maria Cruz, president of the Hispanic Women’s League. “Whether pursuing a degree at a university, gaining skills through trade school or professional development, or launching an entrepreneurial path, we are proud to support Latinas as they break barriers, grow, and shape the future.”
