Preview: Guest Conductor Otto Tausk Leads The BPO Friday Morning And Saturday Night

The Music Director of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Conducts Beethoven, Wagenaar, and a new work by Tim Fain

Vancouver Symphony conductor Otto Tausk visits the Queen City and will conduct the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at a Coffee Concert 10:30AM Friday, November 22, 2024, Kleinhans Music Hall. The program repeats Saturday, November 23 at 7:30PM.

The program begins with a performance of Dutch composer Johan Wagenaar’s heroic Overture to “Cyrano de Bergerac” (1905). Click here for a performance by the Rotterdam Symphony Orchestra.

Violinist and composer Tim Fain will then perform his own “Edge of a Dream” (2021) and the program will conclude with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 (Eroica) (1804). Click here for a short excerpt from a 1971 performance by the Berlin Philharmonic, conducted by Herbert von Karajan.
