Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus adds new voices as altos, sopranos join in new choir

Robert Strauss, the artistic director of the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus, came away from a conference last summer with the conviction that Buffalo also needs sopranos and altos singing for social justice. That’s how a new chorus with many higher voices has come to be. Created through the BGMC, membership isn’t dependent on gender identity and it’s so new that the chorus doesn’t have a name yet. Mike Desmond has the story.
