What the Heck is Infringement?

By Miggie Jean

Have you heard of the Buffalo Infringement Festival, or ever accidentally wandered into a show? The Buffalo Infringement Festival (informally called “Infringement”) is a multimedia art festival that showcases visual art, music, comedy, dance, theater and all media in between.

“If you do it, you can infringe it!” is its motto.

The 10-day festival begins tonight (Thursday, July 25) with a parade procession starting at 7 p.m. in front of the Nickel City Housing Cooperative’s Ol’ Wondermoth (corner house at Elmwood and North). The Mini Marching Machine, a local marching band, will lead the procession through the heart of Allentown and end in the front of Nietszche’s.

Beginning at 9 p.m., the opening ceremony will officially kickoff with an animated lineup:

• El the Mime
• Jupiter Trolley
• Erica the Ice Dragon
• Mookie Endolphins
• The Foxy Thrills • Goodbye Metro
• DJ WaxMice

This is the 20th annual Infringement Festival, and it will begin with a bang. Come out to experience this unique celebration, a festival by artists, for artists and for you.
